Laser Resurfacing

Laser resurfacing is a technique used in the treatment of wrinkles caused by aging, sun damage, heredity, life style, acne and scars. The resurfacing is performed using CO2 or Sciton (Erbium) Lasers. The laser removes skin layers by vaporization. The effect of the laser resurfacing are longer lasting compared to the chemical or mechanical peels.

Laser resurfacing is performed under local anaesthesia or i.v. sedation. The recovery may take about a week. Redness may persist for 2 to 4 weeks. A patient may go out with camouflage make up. Sun exposure must be avoided for 3 to 4 weeks.
