Fat (Autologus) Translpant

This procedure involves harvesting the fat of the patient and using it to fill scars, nasal-labial folds, breast augmentation, lip augmentation, cheeks or any other area, where the filler may improve the looks. The most important benefit of using the patient's own fat (autologous fat) is to avoid any reaction which may occur if any other type of filler is used.

The fat is extracted from tummy, buttocks and thighs, called the donor sites. The patient is assessed if she/he has potential site for extracting fat. The fat is extracted by the technique used in liposuction. During the extraction utmost care is taken in not damaging the fat cells. The extracted fluid is processed, purified for fat and stored in 5cc or 10cc syringes. The purified fat can be injected for filling at the same session. Any excess fat can be saved and stored in special freezer for future use. Such stored fat can be used for up to 12 months. Recovery in this procedure depends on the amount of fat extracted, the area treated and the patient's history of healing. For small fat graft procedure, the patient may return to work next day.
